Cerdo a las finas hierbas/ Pork with herbs

Cooking with herbs and spices it´s a great idea to add flavour and a special touch to our dishes. Furthermore, due to their intense and aromatic taste, it will help us reduce our salt intake. My today´s dish suggestion is oven roasted pork with basil, thyme and garlic, accompanied with some baked potatoes (recipe that you can find in the next post).
Ingredients:

  1. Pork fillets
  2. a raceme of fresh basil
  3. a raceme of fresh thyme
  4. 3 small-medium garlic cloves
  5. white pepper
  6. oil and a pinch of salt

Elaboration:

  1. Firstly, we need to clean the pork fillets and place them on an oven tray
  2. Then, we slice the garlic and chop the basil and thyme, once they have been cleaned
  3. We also add a dash of olive oil to the pork
  4. Finally, we add the rest of the ingredients (garlic, fresh herbs, white pepper and salt). We need to spread the mixture using our hands and leave it marinating for about 20 minutes
  5. We have also preheated the oven to 200º but it needs to be lowered to 180º once the tray is put into the oven. Cook for about 25-30 minutes.

And we have our meal ready! Baked potatoes and a leaf salad are excellent garnishes which go very well with this meat dish.
